The rich velvet on this sofa makes it more than just vogue, is very sexy, sexy.

Tell me which sofa matches your style. Are you super romantic red or fun pop-art pink, perhaps you are elegant white or personality plus purple.  I love them all but I have to say that velvet is where it’s at!

  2. I like your sad sofa, it has so much potential. the detailed framing is beautiful, and with a lush fabric and thick cushions on the bottom..Love it, but then again I’m know to find the beauty in things, (people too) that at first sight can be an eyesore.

  4. All of this is pretty! I guess decorating is one of the many things many need women for. I have a bit more than a rudimentary aesthetic sense, but I can’t decorate my house worth a damn. I guess I just have no pictures in my brain of nice interiors, so when my imagination tries to assemble an attractive layout in my home, it comes up blank.

  5. Oh yes, and the next to last picture is by far my favorite–plenty of rich colors, but restful.

  6. Dear nightman,
Go to the book store and find a magazine with a page that has a decorating scheme you could live with. Try to reproduce that look in your home. Take it one room at a time. Just keep each room somewhat similar. You can do it- I know you can. Send pictures if you do.

  7. Excellent advice, Javajune!

But I am now committed to the “manly hobby” school of decorating. Since I first confronted the decorating conundrum 8 years ago I’ve built a pretty good collection of classic radios, and they now provide most of the decor in my small house. I’ve tried very hard not to produce a cluttered look as I’ve disposed them about the place. Frankly, I haven’t been entirely successful. Still, I love them enough that I find the scheme acceptable to ME.

I’ve recently taken pictures of the place. I believe I’ll attempt to enliven my appallingly retro all-text blog with some of those pictures, as you have done.

This is a fine blog, and I intend to read it frequently.
