Javajune's Blog

Someone once said… “Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”

If you blog it they will come…

liberty-mercy Remember your first time… ? (oh yeah…) Hey, I’m talking about blogging here! You know when you first got this crazy idea to start a blog and you were so excited and maybe even a little nervous. Well maybe that was just me. I remember how naive I was. I thought, “okay I’m going to do this just for me and not tell anyone about it.” I will say whatever I want, tell all of my secrets, rant about anyone and everyone who may or may not have pissed me off that day and listen to everyone else tell their story.  I thought the minute I put up a post there would be swarms of Internet junkies just waiting to comment because everyone is so interested in knowing what I have to say, right? I know, I know you’re shaking your head…. poor naive girl, where did she come from?

I learned very quickly that it takes work to get your name out there and just because someone visits doesn’t necessarily mean they will have something to say. Let alone share their secrets with you. Well things have changed a bit but not too much. I still tell you most (okay a lot) of my secrets, sometimes in a round about way and I do rant quite often. I do get an email with a story or comment from time to time.  ( I also get emails asking for my bank account info and gentleman asking me to set them up with a lady friend for the night, where the hell did they get the crazy idea that I was running an escort service?) A few people read what I have to say and it’s fun to just let loose even if nobody is listening or reading.

So all of the above rambling brings me to this question- what were your expectations when you started to blog and have they been met? Do you do it as a release or are you trying to connect with people who have similar interests? Oh sorry that’s two questions.

For me blogging is all the above and more. It is definitely a release, even if no one is listening and a way to connect and exchange ideas but most of all it’s a form of entertainment (it sure beats what”s usually on TV)  That’s how or why the “Sofa Diary” was born( if you’re new to this blog click here for info about the Sofa Diary) . I started the book first and then decided to let it spill over on to this blog. It certainly beats my childhood diary, with pictures and everything.  So that’s it for today… I was just curious as to why you blog, I’m always curious!

Enjoy the weekend.

This tiny thing

img_0542Something has changed and I can’t put my finger on it but I can feel it, smell it, taste the difference. It’s very, very small but not insignificant, no not at all. Many great and important things start this way, as a tiny moment, or a little thought, a speck of dust, or a powerful seed.  One tiny seed packs so much within it’s tiny shell. Hold it in your hand and marvel at it’s simplicity but plant it beneath a handful of dark rich soil and hope begins. All that is needed to foster this seed is patience and just a little tender love and care. If you plant the seed and then someone waters it, this tiny particle grows into a hopeful living thing that gives back more than it’s taken.

The magic begins the moment this little thing is placed in a dark rich earth that penetrates it’s hard core and nurtures her inner self until something amazing happens. When it’s first planted there is no way to be certain what may transpire or what kind of plant will prevail but then it happens, this tiny thing that didn’t look like much became a beautiful thing with tiny leaves and intricate roots. There is no need to be all-knowing or to have any answers at all. It only requires a little patience, persistence perhaps, and just the right amount of expectation, for hope to be born and a tiny seed to spread it’s roots that will change the earth just a little.

It may sound ridiculous but I assure you it is not. We are all gardeners in a very special way. You and I have been planting the seeds and we’re tending the plants together. This land of blog is our soil and yep you guessed it- the seeds are lingering within our words. One of us plants a good thought and another fosters it with an encouraging word, the next blogger feeds the hopeful seed with particles of information and then an explosion erupts through the core with rich green leaves and a tiny bud that faces the light, maybe for the first time. As the light warms this plant, her beauty begins to unfold and bring  joyful smiles and lasting hope to this place.

Who would have ever believed that such a tiny thing could become the change that transpired it all. No more wondering if this could be true, I assure you it’s real and happening right at your feet. No one belongs here more than you and your wonderful words. We have everything we need to foster this blogland into a blossom of extraordinary beauty that can grow a fruit that will nourish us all.

be patient…

be persistent…

be hopeful…

be the story…

be convinced…

Hope is alive and growing and you have made the difference. Together we can change everything,  just one word, one story, one day at a time.

I love this, it makes me want to go play in the dirt. Thank you for making this a hopeful place.

What I’m listening to right now.

Can you see my feet tapping and my face smiling?  🙂
