OWOH Magic Carpet Ride, give-away

OWOH2010announce

Imagine yourself traveling around the country and across the world to far away places you have never experienced. The people welcome you with open arms, open minds and open hearts. Their love and support is genuine and happens on days when you need it most.  It’s spiritual, beautiful and feels like something out of a fairy tale.

I began blogging a couple years ago just before the OWOH event. I saw an invitation for this very special tour and decided to go for it. I have to say it was truly one of the best things I’ve ever done.

I began blogging in search of other people who were like me, open-minded, creative and a bit whimsical. I found all of that but more importantly, I found myself, in all of you. Thank you for that.

The item I want to share with one special blogger is a necklace I made on a day when I was feeling a wave of hope for peace and understanding around the world. This necklace symbolizes my love for nature and serenity and my hope that some day we will all be one world living in peace.

It’s made with beads, vintage and new, they’re intermingled with fabric flowers and then strung on a silver necklace. To enter the drawing you must type a little message after this post. Be sure that your comment has a valid email addy attached so I can make contact if you are the winner.

Enter the drawing for my peace-offering and then click on the magic carpet above. You will be instantly transported to the starting point for a wonderful opportunity to take a  magic carpet ride around the world.  Thank you Lisa, our Whimsical Bohemian, for this opportunity to share our world and our hearts.

At last we have a winner…..LIBBY.   Congrats…. I hope you will enjoy a little taste of my new Island Girl’s Bohemian blend.

img_2870

Like I mentioned in my last post I am still working on the scent but I have a sample all ready to send off in the mail. I’d like to thank all of you who left travel stories or comments while I was away. I loved every one of them.  Sorry Libby but the island girl isn’t included in the package. She just looked good in the mix. Send me an email with your addy, so I can send this out to you. WARNING… The bath salts, I included, claim to make you a dangerous girl.  he… he…

The diffuser bottle is wrapped in tape so you will have a little unwrapping and set up to do before the Bohemian blends aroma can sift through your room. Pull the top off and pop the reeds in- that’s it. You can flip the reeds after a couple weeks to keep the scent flowing. Enjoy!!

Traveling always inspires me to try new ventures, which reminds me of my favorite quote by Flora Whittemore…

“The doors we open and close  each day decide the lives we live.”

I love that- so passionate and so true!  So as I was saying- new ventures. Yes, I have a few ideas but one that isn’t entirely new- reopening my etsy shop. I’m thinking about it because I have a few fine art prints and other little creations that I would like to offer. I’ll let you know what I decide.  Thanks again for entering my giveaway. I’m off to let Libby know that she was chosen by my magic hat.

Bon Voyage Travel Treasure Give-away

img_2564This is it… the day of JJ’s  Treasure Travel Give-away. Okay, first of all, I’m so excited. I don’t know why because you’re the one who may find a little seaside treasure in your mail box. Your wait is just a little longer. My plane leaves tomorrow and returns Sunday the 19th. Did you notice that my travel gnome has changed? Well, Ug the gnome, kind of had an accident. Oopps! This fellow was all too glad to step in. One problem is that he is rather large and his pointy cap could be considered a weapon, I suppose. Warning don’t piss off the chick on the plane with the gnome who is headed for  Captiva Island. Hee He.

The rules are quite simple, actually there aren’t any. I don’t like rules too much. That’s why I was never very good at playing games. Yeah, I cheat sometimes.

So here goes. Leave me a message on this post. Tell me you’re seeking treasure or better yet tell me a story about your travels or favorite vacation. Or if you’re shy just leave your name but you know how I love stories. LOVE THEM! That’s it. Pretty simple. When I return I will print, cut and dump the names in a magic hat, probably this one.javajune-jj This hat is magic because it makes me feel like I’m on a mission when I wear it and when I’m on a mission, exciting things tend to happen.

Once this magic hat reveals the lucky name, I will email you for an address and poof, I’ll be at your door. No seriously, that’s just creepy. I’ll send your package off and a secret travel treasure will arrive in your mail box. Make sure when you leave your name there is a valid addy attached.

I will probably be MIA during the next few days. If I get a chance and I find a little WIFI, I may post some pics or just pop in to say hi , I will try, but don’t count on it for sure.  I want to wish you all a peaceful Easter weekend. Have a great week and by all means leave me a message or two. I do hope the weather is good for you. Enjoy the spring sun and let your dreams run free…..

beach-dreaming

This is me, last year, at Sand Key. I’m always happiest when on the beach with the sun on my face and the surf in my ear. I just go with the flow and the rhythm is good.

Don’t forget to sign up for a little pirate treasure. Good luck!!!

Bye for now…. be safe always… be happy daily… day dream often… and be free forever……..

I love forever!!!

My stalker, a travel give away, and the gnome

img_2554This was the scene on my deck yesterday. Today is much better, thank you. He is cute and yes I did feel sorry for him but there is something you should know about this fellow. He is my stalker. He sits on the deck and peeks in my windows. Sometimes he jumps up on the potting table to get a better view of me. He is a little creepy and sometimes even scares the shit out of me. I can sense his eyes watching me and then all of a sudden he jumps against the window, as if he thinks I’m going to open it and welcome him in. Some days I find myself talking to him as a work around the house. Yes I know it sounds a little crazy but I’m just thankful that the neighbors can’t hear or see me.

I’m slowly getting ready to fly south for a little sun therapy. After this long winter I desperately need it. I think I’ve mentioned this before but I am not a cold weather fan. Give me sun drenched days spent in nothing more then a tank top, a pair of shorts and flip-flops, or better yet bare-feet. The more heat, the less clothes, the better!

Okay so about my trip and travel treasure give away- I will be in search of something unique to the area I’m visiting. It is a small island and there are very few shops. Mostly fine art and other expensive things like that. Sorry I won’t be purchasing a pricey painting or anything close to that for you 😦 I will be hunting for some cool treasures from the sea and who knows what else. To help me in my search of treasure, I have brought in a bit of an expert on travel. Meet Ug the traveling gnome.

img_2560-2I’m sure you’ve seen his larger cousin on Travelocity. Well apparently the check out lady at Target had not. I noticed her making an odd face as she whizzed him through the scanner. So I tried to explain my intentions for him. Well, I should have just kept quiet because the more I tried to explain the higher her eyebrows got. Now before you get the idea that I am a little crazy,  keep in mind that I’m now a woman, (who BTW is not going to reveal her age), but still a silly girl at heart. I admit that I have age issues. I still think of myself as a young girl until I look in the mirror and see this woman stairing back. That’s when I say, “what the hell, who let her in?”

That’s all for now because I really should finish packing. I have until Friday but time has a way of getting away from me.  Keep your eyes open for that give away post.

Take care… jj
