Someone once said… “Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”

A whisper of snow

No sound,

Not a rumble, nor a roar,

No echo

Just a whisper

So soft, so simple

Just perfect!

I’m sipping my morning coffee in a cozy chair beneath the leafy greens. I love the way the morning light softly slips through the leaves, I feel hidden and protected. The wind outside is blowing and the air is an uncomfortable 30 degrees but my world inside is safe and warm.

A few weeks ago I talked about my book “A Sea of Whispers” and promised to tell you more very soon. Well, I haven’t forgotten but I’m waiting until after the Holidays. It’s a secret that will be presented to Mr. Java and a few other family members over Christmas, so you see I can’t do a full reveal just yet. Can you believe I kept a secret? Me neither!

A snow storm is forecasted for today and I’m not so sure I’m ready but I guess it doesn’t much matter if I’m ready or not. It will come ready or not and you can bet that I will be tucked away someplace warm and snuggly. Perhaps I’ll sit in front of the fireplace, while a toasty flame warms my toes, surrounded by windows and watch the world around me turn a crisp, clean shade of white. Perhaps the snow will not come at all and I will venture out to the store or meet my sister for lunch. Yeah that sounds about right. It’s her birthday and she lives almost 2 hours away. Hmmmm, a birthday lunch sounds like the perfect excuse for a road trip 🙂

Better grab my snow boots and where did I put that car scraper?

A whisper of fall crept through the window

IMG_3164

It’s that time of year when gardens fade and a nip in the air begins to alter the earth to a rich patina of fall color.  A few flowers are still hanging in but the garden’s vibrant colors are gone for the season. I took a little drive yesterday on a quest for the peafowl farm that sells peacock feathers along the road side. I had passed it by a few weeks ago but didn’t feel the need to stop. Yesterday that need came calling, so I set out on a hunt for a little turquoise and green. No feathers to be had but I did come across a beautiful field planted several acres deep with gorgeous sunflowers. It made my trip totally worth while.

The sky was grey and dull but this field offered the perfect pop of color to the country side. A whisper of fall crept through my window as I captured this shot. There are good things to be found in every season- remind me of that when I’m whining because the world outside my window is covered in white and temps are hovering below zero.

Faded roses are creeping their way into the play house window, making the love shack soft and dreamy. This rose is melting it’s way into the perfect shade of pink-love that! My favorite colors are soft pinks, creamy whites, mossy greens and chocolate browns. Mmmm

The English Oaks are showering me with an abundance of acorns in the perfect shades of mossy green and chocolate brown. The season is changing slowly and beautifully. I’m curious to hear about the signs of change in your neck of the woods. Tell me how Mother Nature lets you know that fall is just around the corner. Do you hear a whisper?

Studio Pink is in need of a little restocking so sometime this week I will be adding a few images to the shelves- stay tuned for that.

Have a colorful Monday.

The recurring dream

img_1867

The scary tree outside my window (secret..I’m still afraid of the dark-sometimes)

Today I would like to take you on a little journey to a secret place. Let’s take a ride through dreamland. So get ready, sit back and just let go……. Floating through the darkness and then…… my dream begins.

Lights are flickering- great adventures unfolding. Coasting, coasting with my head in the clouds. Dreams are like a story, they take you there and leave you standing where all things are possible and you always land softly.

Lights are flickering and I have visions flashing in my head. My recurring dream is here again. I don’t believe it. He takes me there, the stars, the sky wide open. Drifting, floating, and coasting to a soft landing. Then something tickles my ear,”Do you hear me calling…”  I see the man who is no stranger in my dreams “come hear, love”  he whispers through the night. The trees part ways and a moon appears, so luminous it takes my breath away. The scenery, the great adventure, the man with my dreams in his hand. I reach for him but then I recognize my heart in a tiny little box, bright pink and beating ever so slowly, steam rises, his hands, my heart, his vision, my dreams, our life. I don’t believe it.

He says goodnight and so I go….far, far, very far away, rising, twisting, turning into a downward spiral to a soft landing. The curtains breathing life into a stale room, in and out with the gentle breeze, the canopy of my bed, the twinkling of a million stars, I am alone in a pool of sweat, my heart firmly planted, and my life the same. I’m falling for him baaad! But it’s too late. I believe it.   jj

I just wanted to leave you with dreams and wide open spaces for your mid- week pondering. Have a dreamy Wednesday. For those of you who commented, I updated the story here.   Thanks….jj

Enjoy a  little “Bubbly Toes” by Jack Johnson to make you move like a jellyfish, his words not mine.

Gotta love that!   Be on your bubbly toes tomorrow when I post Java June’s Travel Treasure give-away
